Did anyone eat fiddle head ferns? or dandelion shoots or any part of that plant? Or were those plants introduced later?
Fiddle heads, as far as I know, and what the Elders tell me, have been a staple of the diet for many years. My kids love them. Dandelions – I don’t know. I have always thought of them as invasive. And I think they taste yucky! I probably just pick them too late, but they have never been high on my collectable list. I am sure they are really good for you. You can have my share!
did you get the kulich I sent over on the ferry? CB should have passed them out for me!

I’m slowly watching the “putch-keys” 😛 (however it’s spelled) push sprouts out!! They’ll be huge here in a couple months!!! yum yum!!
